Doug graduated from the prestigious Fitness Institute International in 2010 with concentrations in Post Rehab and Kinesiology. The Fitness Institute is considered the most premier Exercise Science Trade School and deemed the most legally defensible certification in the country. Doug also obtained the NSCA-CPT certification as well as the Titleist Performance Institute's (TPI) Level 1 & Level 2 Golf Fitness Certifications under Gray Cook and Tom House. Other certifications include: FRC, FMS2, a Post Rehab Specialist, a Functional Training Specialist, a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, A Nutritional Specialist and a Fitness Testing Specialist. He just completed the Functional Range (FR) Spine Certification in 2023 and finished the Graston Technique certification in July 2023.
Working under and in conjunction with therapists and patients during discharge and creating medically based programs for continued care and at-home programs is another primary focus offered by NUMA Fit. Doug worked for Dr. Michael Reed, DPT for three years as one of their head Exercise Specialists. One of his goals is to bridge the gap between Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Orthopedic and Sport Medicine Care.
